SSR and ASAS to host Triennial Reproduction Symposium
In honor of the Society for the Study of Reproduction’s (SSR) 50th Anniversary, a joint Triennial Reproduction Symposium will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM, in Washington, D.C. It is co-hosted by SSR and ASAS.
The Triennial Reproduction Symposium is focused on large animal/domestic livestock (USDA-related species) reproduction. The co-chairs of this special joint session are Andrea Cupp, Ph.D., and Debora Hamernik, Ph.D. During lunch, posters will be available for viewing.
Invited talks include:
“Reproduction in Domestic Ruminants During the Past 50 Years: Discovery to Application,” a historical perspective by Former Casida Awardee Michael F. Smith, Ph.D. (University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri).
“Prime Eggs from Prime Cows,” by Marc-Andre Sirard, Ph.D., V.M.D. (Universite Laval, Quebec, QC, Canada).
“Wnt’s Role in Folliculogenesis,” by Jennifer A. Hernandez Gifford, Ph.D. (Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma).
“Fetal Origins of Impaired Muscle Growth and Metabolic Dysfunction: Lessons from Lambs,” by Dustin Tyler Yates, Ph.D. (University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska).
“Male Reproductive Behavior: Pathways and Messengers,” by Brenda M. Alexander, Ph.D. (University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming).
“Working Towards More Continuous Model of Conceptus Implantation and Placentation in Ruminants,” by Kazuhiko Imakawa, Ph.D. (University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan).
Additional talks, selected from submitted abstracts, also will be presented, as well as poster awards and the Casida Awardee presentation.
